6. Charlemagne: Learn who’s to blame for compulsory schooling and who’s to thank for trial by jury. Follow in Charlemagne’s footsteps by sleeping with a journal under your pillow and make a house to attract one of the most important livestock animals in Charlemagne’s empire: bees.
7. Vikings: Meet the Viking Queen, Aud the Deep Minded. Get to know the real Vikings as you read a story about Thor and Loki, weave cord on a lucet, decorate and use a drinking horn, and play music on Viking-style pan pipes.
8. Japan: Discover the age of the Samurai! Make your own mini rock garden, learn the art of origami, and enjoy a tasty treat with a traditional flavor.
9. Mongols: Ride with Genghis Khan, discover traditional Mongol games, enjoy felting wool, and refresh yourself with a traditional Mongolian drink.

11. Benin: Tour one of the Medieval centers of art and culture in Benin. Find out how snail shells were used as currency and then make your own cowrie shell jewelry. Hear Benin folklore from an Own Voices author, learn to play the kalimba, relax and unwind with some traditional African soap.
12. Native Alaska: Discover the vibrant and diverse cultures of Alaska. Paint a wooden mask inspired by the art of Native Alaskans. Learn about the different ways Native Alaskans thrived in their environments and try out a pair of snow goggles. Make an Alaskan yo-yo and read a Tlingit story about Raven. This box about the history of Native peoples in Alaska was created in collaboration with Yupik and Tlingit artists and writers.

Our Middle Ages Full Curriculum Bundle is suitable for Elementary, Middle, and High School. Each box contains a full-color magazine. It begins with an overview of the topic in simple, kid-friendly language perfect for lower elementary learners. Upper elementary students will enjoy a narrative time travel penpal letter. Historical articles written at a middle school reading level are perfect for middle and high school students or to provide background information to the educator. Our crafts scale well across age levels, allowing multi-age groups to work together.  Our Young Adult bundles are recommended for high schoolers and adults. It contains an additional article which may contain a discussion of mature topics.
